Fabio Buzzi’s Bermuda Challenge Record
After powering 760 miles through the North Atlantic Ocean at an average speed of 40 knots, Fabio Buzzi and a crew of four aboard the boat FB Design set a new Bermuda Challenge record today of 17 hours and 6 minutes. The new record is 4 hours and 33 minutes faster than the record set August 5, 2012 by Chris Fertig and Tyson Garvin of 21 hours and 39 minutes.
Buzzi and crew departed New York at 3:56 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Thursday, September 27, 2012 and arrived at Bermuda’s Town Cut Channel on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 10:02 a.m. Bermuda Time which is 9:02 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.
