Things happen at a much different speed out on the water. For the most part, boats and PWCs don’t stop like cars and trucks. You’re also exposed to the elements instead of being protected by glass, metal and airbags. It’s not enough to make sure you’re boating safely. You really do have to pay attention to your surroundings, and make sure that your fellow boaters are doing the same. More often than not, at least one of them isn’t.
The woman in today’s Boating Fail took notice of a watercraft approaching at a high rate of speed, and instead of sticking around while her PWC became a launch ramp, she made a quick decision to get out of the way. It probably saved her life. Remember to always keep a watchful eye on those out on the water with you. It might save your life too.
