The all-new ZS series from Supreme marks a huge step forward across the board for price-conscious buyers of watersports boats. The ZS212 is no exception. For starters, its assertive lines and unique alignment of top deck and hull are bold — in a very good way. This is also where the ZS name comes from: On the port side the lines look like a Z, on the starboard side an S.
The ZS212 rides on what Supreme has dubbed its Tapered-V hull. As the name indicates, the hull tapers toward the transom, allowing it to sit deeper in the water, thereby displacing more water to create bigger and better wakes and waves. And even at just 21 feet, this boat can displace plenty of water thanks to 4,400 pounds of available ballast alongside a whopping 81-gallon fuel tank. More than displacement went into the design of the ZS hull though. Offset chines on either side help to mitigate the effect of the prop’s rotation, which makes for even more symmetrical wakes and waves.
Borrowing the QuickSurf Pro system from big sister company Centurion, the ZS212 makes waves that shape up quickly and easily. A lever behind the steering wheel allows the driver to adjust the Stinger Wake Plate to either lengthen or steepen the wakes and waves depending on each rider’s preferences. The dash houses a unique gauge layout unlike any we’ve seen in a watersports boat. With a mix of analog and digital gauges, the boat’s functions are easily controlled via the toggle switches and the touchscreen. The tach and speedo are stacked to the right of the steering wheel, which is unusual but highly functional.
With room for 13, the ZS212 is a great all-around wakeboat in a smaller package. It still delivers wakes and waves to accommodate all skill levels and styles. Board racks and under-seat storage provide plenty of room for gear, and a unique wakesurf board storage spot has been added under the rear sun pad above the engine. Simply put, this little boat packs a big punch. If you’re looking to get more serious about your watersports experience but don’t need the size or all the bells and whistles of some other models out there, the ZS212 is a great place to start.
