Charger 195 Foxfire

This fast bass boat is packed to the gills with features.

Charger’s new 195 Foxfire has a standard-equipment list that reads like the options list on most other boats. It’s 64 items long, including a Hot Foot throttle, an integrated jack plate, a Lowrance HDS 7 (at the helm) and an HDS 5 (at the bow), a single-axle trailer with aluminum wheels and a swing-away tongue, and a custom boat cover.

Examine the Foxfire, and you’ll find that all of those goodies are complemented by smart design. The angled, nonslip step pad makes it easy to go from the casting deck to the cockpit, for example. And notice that all of the stowage compartments are lighted with blue LED lights, more durable and efficient than incandescents. There’s also a unique stowage compartment under the aft-deck hatch with a molded-in landing net holder.

Fit and finish is up to tournament bass-boat standards, with a tricolored hull and deck, 24-ounce ash carpet, while a set of slick-looking Livorsi racing bezels on the helm gauges adds appeal.

Performance is also tournament grade, with a head-snapping 2.87-second time to plane and a 67.9 mph top-end speed. Warn your buddies before you nail the throttle on this boat — with this kind of acceleration and speed, holding on is not optional.
