With so many boat brands, it is hard to stand out in the fleet of competitors. But the new 26SD WSS will keep many eyes on Cobalt.

It accomplishes this by designing a crossover-style boat that ably handles cruising, beaching and water-sports activities with equal aplomb. Interior space is maximized with a technique Cobalt nicknames “space reclamation,” which uses volume traditionally tucked behind or under other appointments. If space reclamation leaves you with more real estate than you need, Cobalt offers a 24SD with comparable equipment.

In both, the interior bristles with practical features like an aft rumble seat and a companion seat that converts to an aft-facing lounge, completing a wraparound lounge that extends from transom to console. The forward seating has folding armrests that provide cruising comfort and security.

Cobalt’s WSS package adds an aggressive, compelling look while accommodating board sports. It has a tower, rotating board racks, and other cool options like stereo-speaker pods that can be aimed fore, aft and abeam, or removed for stowage.

But what finishes the deal for us is Cobalt’s superior attention to detail in the finer forms of fit and finish. Even hidden spaces, like the changing compartment often ignored by other builders, are opulently finished. The upholstery is perfectly, decoratively stitched. Durable synthetic materials are form-fitted over the helm-station pod, giving an aggressive look of perfection more often found in a luxury boat.
