The new Lowe Platinum 23 RFL combines pontoon luxury with the excitement of water sports. For luxury, there are two pairs of lounges — one pair in the bow and another in the stern, plus a swiveling, reclining captain’s chair with flip-up armrests. The two-tone vinyl upholstery and carpeting play off the platinum theme, but the carpet gives way to optional faux-teak decking aft.
The fiberglass console features a smoked acrylic windshield, as well as full instrumentation, a control panel for the upgraded Sony stereo system, and a tilt-and-lock helm with the optional hydraulic steering. Storage compartments forward of the windshield possess clear acrylic hatches.
Our boat was equipped with the XL performance package with a 25-inch center log for greater speed and V-hull-like cornering. Optional is a custom ski tow bar. The two aft lounges have backrests that let you recline and watch the action astern. The RFL in the name means rear-facing lounges.
A spacious swim platform stretches across the entire stern, and a fold-up boarding ladder and gate make it easy to climb back aboard after a tow session or a swim. You will also find boarding gates amidships on the port side and in the bow.
