Starcraft Majestic 256 Starliner
As you board the Majestic 256 Starliner, take a moment to note the polished stainless-steel bow gate with its smoked Lexan insert. It’s the first hint of the luxury to be found. That luxury includes generous parallel lounges forward, swathed in soft-touch vinyl with diamond-pattern inserts and built-in Polk Audio speakers; twin high-back chairs amidships flanking a handy built-in cooler; and a well-appointed helm, raised 4 inches above the deck to give the captain a better view forward and completed with standard GPS. Cushions on the forward seats pivot out and down on two-part hinges to allow easy access. The roto-molded bases below provide low-maintenance storage. Seemingly everywhere are cup holders lit by LEDs to provide a rich, nighttime glow.
The Majestic 256’s ultimate amenities, however, are without doubt the extravagant dual bars that occupy the boat’s entire aft third. Located behind the helm to starboard and across two-thirds of the aft fence to port, those bars feature faux-granite countertops and a pair of swiveling stools each. More lighted cup holders keep drinks steady up top while, below, a convenient pull-out cooler, tucked behind brushed stainless-steel doors, is ready with the reinforcements. A freshwater sink built into the aft bar top completes the list of standard-issue extras. Want the ultimate option? Go for the flat-screen TV lift. Hidden below the aft bar countertop, it raises a flat screen into view in a scene straight out of MTV Cribs. Who says you have to miss the big game on boating day?
Starcraft’s optional HMX package added a third, center tube to our test boat, performance-oriented strakes to the insides of the outer tubes and both sides of the center tube, and an aluminum, underdeck skin to cover the cross members and present a smooth surface to the water. The result proved to be agile handling, including a tighter turning radius, and the ability to accommodate up to 300 horsepower. With an Evinrude 250 HO, the Majestic planed in 3.75 seconds, passed the 30 mph mark in 9.33 seconds, and peaked at 39.2 mph.
