The 2016 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is the culmination of a week of events at the popular performance-boating hot spot, including the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Poker Run on Friday, August 26. Participants can register at Performance Boat Center (www.performanceboatcenter.com) on Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m.
On Friday morning, registration will still be open and the poker run, which is sponsored by Poly Lift boatlifts, will take place. The awards will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. followed by live entertainment at Captain Ron’s. For more information, go to www.lakeoftheozarksshootout.com.
The main event, the shootout, starts Saturday. It’s a single-boat format with a boat entering the course and running as fast as possible for 1 mile. This year’s entry list includes some of the fastest boats on the water, including Don Onken’s 50-foot Mystic, American Ethanol, which won last year’s event. The fastest boats will be running Saturday morning, and their passes can be seen on the livestream at the event website.
