Scout Boats is known for combining innovative design with super functionality and plenty of style. The company has enhanced that reputation with the 300 LXF, a sharp and aggressive, forward-seating, luxury, sport-fisherman center-console that handles cruising daytime to overnight, along with hard-core piscatorial pursuit.

Attention to detail shines bright at the helm. This double-wide station is within easy reach of all dashboard components, and the large Garmin displays are perfectly angled for viewing at speed. A convenient digital switching system allows programming of a remote fob key to power on or off selected components, and it’s easy to service. The patented T-top/hardtop enclosure is rock-solid, and choosing tempered glass over Plexiglas windows was a smart move.

Up front, the Italia lounge hints at luxury while housing a spacious, nonskid, self-draining stowage compartment. The entire bow area is designed for creature comfort, but the wraparound cushions are easily removed to reveal a serious casting platform with plenty of dry/fish stowage to complement the boxes in the sole. A padded bolster runs the length of the vessel and is positioned perfectly for bracing against while putting the screws to a trophy. An electric windlass in the bow and a starboard “broom closet” for stowables such as brushes, gaffs and lines are nice touches.

Belowdecks, a fully cushioned berth folds up for additional space. There’s a stainless-steel sink with a Corian vanity and mirror, while the head has a china vacuum-flush toilet. Circuit breakers are accessed from the cabin panel.

Aft, a solid leaning post hosts a large livewell with a see-through top so you can tell if your baits are still swimming. Bait stations and tackle storage are set to each side of the livewell, and a Yeti cooler on a sliding tray resides in the base. Rod holders are integrated into the gunwale and seat back, and rocket launchers align the T-top. Need a break? Flip out the transom chair and relax in comfort until the bite begins to simmer.
