Step aboard Charger’s 2230 L Bay Boat. It boasts plenty of power with Mercury’s Verado 300 hp outboard and incredible sea keeping capability thanks to its deep freeboard. It achieved a top speed of 61 MPH at about 6,000 RPM with a recorded 3.8 seconds to reach planning speed when tested.
Upon surveying the boat’s helm station, there is plenty of room to add all the prefered electronics. Complete with a grab rail all the way around for easy stand-up driving and a protective windshield. This model comes equipped with digital switches and Mercury electronic throttle and shift, made complete with Mercury’s electric steering. This bay boat is also set up with three batteries located under the center console.
This model features a traditional 90 quart flop back cooler. The cushion on top flaps forward so that there is an aft spacing seat when trolling. The aft fishing deck has fold-away seats equipped to provide more seating options for passengers. Anglers can even walk on the aft fishing deck making for a great casting platform. On the port side, there’s a baitwell, on the starboard side there’s dry storage and in the center hatch boat owners have access to all the plumbing in the bilge. The jump seats fold forward to reveal more dry storage. Forward on the console includes a thick cushion and seat back that doubles as a large, aerated and recirculated baitwell.
The casting deck features a very large area from which to fish. Ideal for bottom fishing, the anchor locker is placed forward as well to give anglers all the anchor rode needed. Rod holders are integrated on both sides for a total of six standing rod holders, ready for rigged rods.
There’s also a place for a casting chair on the foredeck. Tarpon fishermen are right at home with this customizable addition making the console complete with a fighting chair.
