Supreme’s smallest model, the S202, is versatile and budget-friendly. That value and multisport versatility make it a great choice for family boaters seeking a watersports boat. Perhaps best of all, our testing confirmed this boat delivers action out on the water, in no small part thanks to its total ballast capacity of 3,000 pounds (optional and standard combined).
What makes all 2018 Supreme models great for wakesurfing is QuickSurf, which we put to the test while putting the S202 through its paces. Surfing this boat’s wave, we found selecting our side of the wake was easy utilizing the QuickSurf system and adjusting the Stinger Wake Plate to control the wave’s face. Even a novice watersports-boat captain, can deliver a great experience, regardless of the level at which their crew surfs. The wave produced by the S202 boasted a great shape to it and proved clean all the way through. The wave’s most notable feature, though, was its long length. You’ll be able to surf this wave 10 feet back, which is crazy unusual for a boat this size. That ability to surf back from the boat often makes novices feel more comfortable as compared to riding right up behind the platform.
Inside, the S202 accepts as many as nine crew members and plenty of stowage. We noted brightly colored satin-matte Spradling vinyl sewn with durable Gore Tenara thread by Gore-Tex. Also notable is that Supreme constructs the S202 using the vacuum-infusion process (VIP), making its laminate strong, consistent and more environmentally friendly to produce than traditional fiberglass moldings.
When we jammed the throttle down, the S202 took off like a shot, achieving plane in 3.2 seconds with empty ballast. At top speed, we bested 37 mph. The most economical speed to run this boat with our test engine is at 3,000 rpm, where we netted fuel economy of over 3 mph — great for any boat type. Seeking even more power? Choose from available larger engines.
The S202 is a great choice for families looking for a smaller boat with a manageable wave. This boat is also for crews who love multiple sports and don’t want to sacrifice recreational skiing for board sports.
