A Super Moon Means Super Tides

A Super Moon Means Super Tides

This month’s supermoon will create super tides, so make sure you adjust your dock lines accordingly if you tie up at a fixed dock. I guarantee some neglected boats will either get pulled under water, or be left hanging by dock lines that have not been slacked off.

Additionally, this supermoon–the full moon occurring Sunday, September 27–also combines with a lunar eclipse. This is an awesome astronomical event, and out on your boat is one of the best places from which to view an eclipse ( or other astronomical event). Away from the glare of lights ashore, and with the eclipsed moon reflecting on the water, boaters can treat themselves to an experience others cannot.
