The new G3 Suncatcher Elite 326 SE is a pontoon designed to combine luxury with versatility while still maximizing the performance of its Yamaha outboard power. Let’s start with the layout.
This pontoon is set up to cover all aspects of entertainment on the water. The aft sections feature twin high-back captain’s chairs that can swivel to face any position. Face them forward and two lucky passengers get to enjoy a countertop bar akin to what you’d find on a kitchen island. Yes, each seat has its own personal drink holder.
Moving forward, the elevated helm gives the driver an excellent vantage point to safely view the water from a high-back captain’s chair, above the heads of any passengers hanging out on the extended lounge forward and to port. Wait a minute—to port? Yes, the Suncatcher Elite 326 SE has a plush L-shaped wraparound couch that extends to the portside boarding gate. This arrangement cleverly adds extra seating and storage while allowing the captain to remain connected to the onboard crew.
The bow seating area adds even more creature comforts for hanging out. The two opposing couches feature forward-facing backrests with flip-down armrests. The cushions flip open to reveal tons of storage space in the roto-molded seat bases for whatever gear you want to bring on board.
Performance? This pontoon comes standard with a 25-inch center tube flanked by two 23-inch outer tubes. The tubes have closed-cell flotation to create extra buoyancy. This helps the pontoon handle more like a traditional fiberglass V-hull boat, negating the outboard lean common in pontoons and allowing for graceful, carving turns. It can be equipped with Yamaha power from 115 hp up to 250 hp, providing you with plenty of options to meet the performance of your liking. A previous version of this boat hit speeds in the mid-40s with a Yamaha 250 SHO, which is plenty of speed for the local lake.
When it comes to combining performance with luxury amenities and the ability to entertain up to 14 people, the Suncatcher Elite 326 SE delivers in spades.
