The Supra SL offers seemingly everything a wake or surf enthusiast could desire in a flagship tow boat. With room for 17 passengers, an upscale interior chock-full of amenities, and the ability to create ideal wakes and waves for everyone from the pure novice to the pro-level competitive rider, it’s ready to make its case as one of the premier watersports tow boats on the market.
Producing the ultimate wakes and waves takes precise integration of multiple systems. On the SL, that formula starts with subfloor ballast—4,000 pounds of it to settle the hull deeper into the water. Supra’s SmartPlate optimizes the running angle to dial in the resulting wake’s characteristics. Add Swell 3.0 surf system tabs to build surf wakes with lengthy pockets and plenty of push on either side of the boat.
Once dialed in, Supra’s patented AutoWake hull-management system maintains that desired result no matter the conditions, using sensors to maintain pitch, roll and draft, adjusting ballast on the fly in the process. The result? The ideal conditions for riders to perform at their best…and a load of stress and distraction off the driver.
The SL’s interior and amenities are impressive. Bold, dark colors immediately catch the eye throughout the cockpit, a choice made possible by Chill Tech vinyl, which stays cool even under intense sun. Abundant storage is easily accessed via hinged cushions. Forward, the bow cockpit is deep and secure. At the helm, a standard power seat swivels into the cockpit for socializing, moves both fore and aft, and adjusts for height to give the driver the perfect reach to the wheel and unrestricted view forward. A fixed, aft-facing seatback is located behind the helm, the start of wraparound cockpit seating that can handle a crowd with ease. Lift the portside seat cushion opposite to create an additional aft-facing backrest. The rear bench seat can slide forward into the cockpit, flip over into a handy table, or create the ideal two-passenger observer seat (with fold-down armrests) to cheer on riders behind.
The SL’s swim platform, accessed via a convenient walk-through covered (like the cockpit) in Gator Step. A handy transom Surf Locker provides trunk space for two surfboards and wet lifejackets. Close the lid, and the resulting bench seat offers a great space to gear up for a ride.
A choice of Indmar Raptor engines, from 400 to 575 hp, provides all the low-end torque you’ll need to get a fully loaded boat up and on plane. That’s a good thing, because the SL is sure to draw a crowd.
