2025 Sea Fox 288 Traveler

The Sea Fox 288 Traveler mixes a dry ride with a number of amenities for fishing and boating families.

Sea Fox’s 288 Traveler is aimed squarely at family fishing, sandbar parties and watersports activities. Here is how the boat hit the mark.

The deep-V hull features a pronounced Carolina-flared bow for a dry ride in the rough, and a sharp V-bottom makes it smooth in chop.

Its top speed of just under 58 mph at 6,100 rpm is rewarding, and acceleration at 30 mph is a cat-quick 5 seconds. In the bow, a standard anchor windlass and heavy-duty stainless-steel anchor with chain and rode operate via electric controls, with a freshwater washdown.

At the helm, two 12-inch Garmin screens, a Yamaha CL-5 digital engine gauge, digital throttle and shift, plus Lenco electric trim tabs are all standard. Electric hydraulic steering is optional.

Upgraded diamond-stitched upholstery in the bow and cockpit is cozy, durable, and comes with recessed cubbies with chargers and cup holders and storage underneath. An adjustable-height cocktail table can fill the forward seating cushions for a sun bed.

A standard hardtop with a powder-coated, beefy aluminum frame boasts storage features and fittings for outriggers. A JL Audio system with a Fusion head unit is standard. A folding wind dam expands between the consoles for cold-weather riding.

The port console opens to reveal a very large and easily accessible head with a porcelain toilet. A gelcoated ski locker is in the sole between the consoles. An optional electric grill and cutting board are available.

Dual in-floor fish boxes gravity-drain completely. A portside dive door with heavy-duty hardware and a built-in, flip-over stainless-steel ladder makes on-water boarding and debarking easy.

A 30-gallon pressurized livewell with aquarium see-through glass and a door is fitted to the portside transom. A 30-gallon freshwater shower tank, insulated cooler, four-step stainless-steel ladder, and access to rigging underneath are all featured at the transom.

The 288 makes it clear Sea Fox is committed to reliable quality and high value.
