Grady-White dramatically improved the legendary Express 330 helm deck in the Express 340 by placing the cabin entry on centerline. Like all Grady-White boats, the new Express 340 puts a fine point on practical utility and comfort with elegant features and decor.
The 340’s interior design combines multiple elements such as sea grass panels in the cabin, multiple fabrics in the upholstery and fluted wood inserts in the cabinetry. Then, like any good interior decorator, Grady-White adds port lights and hatches for natural light enhanced by indirect light. Even the midcabin berth is roomy, cheerily lighted with a comfortable backrest and spacious entry.
A large V-berth converts to a dinette by raising the hardwood cocktail table. The forward berth cushion powers upright to complete the surrounding couch.
A refrigerator, stainless-steel sink, microwave and the spacious cabinetry extends beyond the galley into the V-berth, doubling back to the generous starboard head.
The head door opens to a stainless-steel sink with a stylish faucet, mirrors and cabinets. A porcelain head has a fold-down teak shower seat and the shower fixture is of Italian design, adjustable in height and removable for convenience.
The helm deck with an electrically adjustable seat faces a glass cockpit design that can accept dual 19-inch Garmin displays, plus flush push-button switches to center and below a Fusion audio controller and room for a VHF.
The L-shaped companion lounge can convert to a double lounge. Mezzanine seating and a three-person foldaway transom seat, optional refrigerator and Kenyon grill completes the cockpit array.
The mezzanine seatback folds down forming an ingenious rigging or food-prep table. A comfortable pull-out foot stool is surrounded by ample tackle-storage drawers and compartments.
Dual dive doors, a large optionally refrigerated fish box, livewell and additional fish box with a freshwater sink in the transom are flanked by two rod holders in each gunwale. Added rod storage is in the hardtop structure to include rod hangers for four tuna sticks.
Buy some shiny new ones, this Grady-White deserves nicer jewelry.
