Overview
Year after year, Supra continues to innovate and deliver high-performance, high-quality watersports boats. The latest iteration of the SL model received major updates this year, and if you’re in the market for a comfortable, easy-to-use, wake-making machine that can fit your whole family and then some, it has to be on your short list.
The most notable change to the SL for 2026 is the dual lounge-style seats built into the transom. Not only do they make for ultra-comfortable recliners at the back of the boat, but they lift up and allow for easy access to storage compartments underneath. Opt for the shade covering that extends off the back of the Bimini and you’ve got an all-day hangout location.
Engine
Our test model came equipped with Supra’s top engine, a 6.2L Indmar Raptor 550 Supercharged V-8, which packs more than enough punch for whatever activity you throw at it, and also makes it a lot of fun to drive. That said, the 550 is not your only power choice.
Other engine options boat buyers can select for the Supra SL are the 6.2L Indmar Raptor 400, and the 6.2L Indmar Raptor 450. Whether you go for one of those, or with the 550 Supercharged as in our test boat, you get a high-performance V-8 inboard, based on Ford Super Duty Technology and known for best-in-class torque. A closed cooling system comes with these engines. Of special note to watersports boat owners is the marine-specific oil pan that helps ensure proper engine lubrication even when the boat is being operated at a steep angle or maneuvered through sharp turns.
Interior and Accessories
When it comes to driving, the captain is treated to one of the coolest chairs we’ve ever run a boat from. When getting on plane and under a full load, the chair automatically raises to provide a better vantage point over the bow, then lowers back to its preset position once the boat is up and running on plane. It’s also heated, and a cooling function can be added.
To control everything onboard—from wake- and wave-shaping to lighting, audio, navigation and more—two large, readily viewable touchscreens take center stage. Supra installs a 12-inch screen right above the steering wheel, while a vertically mounted 15-inch display is located to the right. These two screens grant access to all the SL’s functions. Redesigned software makes operating every function more intuitive and easier to navigate, while redundant controls on the steering wheel offer instant adjustments. Let me say that I can’t stress enough the importance of being able to make adjustments using the wheel controls without the need to take your hands off the wheel.
Setting the SL up for any activity is as simple as a couple finger taps, and the tuneability of both the wake and wave is as good as it gets—great for catering to all levels of riding, a thing that not every tow boat is capable of providing. Equipped with 4,500 pounds of ballast and Supra’s Swell 3.0 Surf system, the SL quickly and easily kicks up premier wakes and waves.
If you’re in the market and comparison shopping, you should take a look at Centurion’s Ri230. It is a solid comparison, known for its world-class wakesurfing waves. The Ri230 is 5 inches shorter and rated for 14 passengers, but offers 5,400 pounds of total ballast.

Up front, the bow of the SL is also redesigned, and astute buyers might notice the subtle differences with the tweaks. More Gator Step has been added for surer footing should you need to deboard via the bow, and a dedicated anchor locker has been added to the front. Spacious is the easiest way to describe the SL’s bow, as it has more than enough room for two adults, facing forward or aft, and the flip-down armrests are a great touch. There is even an in-floor storage spot big enough for a small cooler, and the walkthrough pad creatively slides up to act as both a centered backrest and a wind dam.
Passengers in the wraparound seating are treated to more comfort and security, with the SL’s premium upholstery and high gunwales. A touchscreen next to the glovebox allows for control of the SL’s tunes, lighting and other accessories. A floor compartment is big enough for a cooler, and buyers can opt for a 12-volt electric Dometic TSX “Cold Machine” mounted in the space—no more worrying about ice. The convertible bench is also updated, making it even easier to deploy into a rear-facing seat or table top. For entertainment, the crew is treated to a DSD audio system that features 30 speakers, including six built into the arms of the tower, creating an immersive experience you have to hear to believe. Supra’s power folding tower is standard on the SL, and has one extra convenience built in: a battery switch. If you want even more convenience, opt for the power-folding Bimini and don’t ever stress over properly attaching arms or stretching canvas into place again.
There is a lot to like about the 2026 SL. At 23-feet, 5-inches, it’s not a behemoth that’s tougher to tow or maneuver, but it still offers plenty of space for all onboard. The SL has comfort, technology and performance in spades. It also has pro-riding pedigree with its customizable wakes and waves. Simply put, the SL isn’t just another great all-around wakeboat, it’s one of the best in its class.
