Porter Family Matriarch, Kristine (Striker) Porter, Dies at 95

It is with heavy hearts that we at Formula Boats inform you of the passing of Kristine (Striker) Porter, matriarch of the Porter Family, owners of our company.

Kristine was the widow of industry icon Victor B. Porter, who passed away in October 2021. Kristine helped her husband Victor through the founding of Vic’s Frozen Food Center and Center Ice Cream, as well as two boat companies, Duo, Inc. in 1958, and Signa Corp. with five business associates in 1970, and in purchasing Thunderbird Products/Formula in 1976, which has been owned and managed by the Porter family for 50 years. Kristine was active in the business with marketing projects and employee insurance for many years.

Kris was an important part of Thunderbird/Formula’s success, supporting Vic’s endeavors while raising the company’s future leaders at home. Her touch was quietly apparent in many aspects of dealer meetings and company events over the years.
