If your idea of a great day is taking it slow while enjoying a meal with family and friends on the water, Princecraft’s Vectra 25 LT might be the perfect boat for you. With a layout built around a lunch table in the aft deck that will seat five people (the captain’s chair swivels to become part of the ensemble), this affordable pontoon is all about relaxing and socializing afloat. Don’t expect blazing speed — powered by a Mercury 115 FourStroke, our boat posted a top speed slightly more than 29 mph. But do expect roomy accommodations for up to 12 people, with plenty of space to kick back and take a load off.
The 25 LT includes a pair of chaise longues in the bow for sunning and mingling among the crew. In the stern area, the backrest on the forward dining seat pivots to become a bow-facing bench. Underneath is a cooler. Sun worshipers will love the sun deck abaft the lunch-table area. You’ll find beaucoup storage under virtually every seat, so guests can bring all the stuff they want. Gates on both sides and the bow ensure easy boarding
A standard Bimini top shades the interior on those sultry days when you want to escape the sun. Marine carpet is standard, but you can opt for textured vinyl or the popular faux sea-grass decking. You can also order exterior LED accent lights for under the tubes.
A Bluetooth-enabled four-speaker stereo keeps the crowd entertained, while an optional ski-tow pylon opens up the possibility for watersports. The aft swim platform, accessible via a gate in the starboard quarter, and boarding ladder invite the crew to take a dip. To enhance performance, consider the Speed package, which includes spray shields and lifting strakes for twin tubes. Optional hydraulic steering makes handling a cinch.
Our test boat offered a pleasing hole shot. With two adults on board, the 25 LT jumped on plane in 3½ seconds and reached 20 mph in 5½ seconds en route to our top speed of 29.3 mph at 5,400 rpm. It achieves over 4 mpg at 20.2 mph, so you can cruise many miles before needing to stop and fill up the 29-gallon fuel tank.
