We’ve been covering EdgeWater Boats since the company’s founding by boatbuilding legend, Bob Dougherty, in 1992. I remember my first time running one of these new boats back then and being pleased by the solid feel and smooth ride it delivered offshore. These qualities were much rarer in small boats back then.

Now a part of Nimbus Boats, EdgeWater continues to innovate and occupies what might be called the top-tier of center console boats.

With the debut of this 310SC, a side-console model, EdgeWater now seeks to attract some more family-oriented boaters, while still serving  anglers with its line of CC’s.

We will be on the water testing this new EdgeWater 310SC soon, and will provide a complete and in-depth report. In the meantime, check out the preliminary preview information that follows. Additional info can be found at ewboats.com.

A New Direction

Developed in partnership with the Scandinavian designers of the Nimbus Group, the 310SC brings European sophistication to EdgeWater’s proven offshore DNA.

At 32 feet overall with a 9-foot, 6-inch beam, the 310SC strikes a sweet spot between entertaining platform and adventure boat. The side-console layout opens up the cockpit, creating wide walkways and expansive social spaces that feel more like those aboard a premium day yacht than a traditional outboard-powered runabout. Plush bow lounges, an aft-facing portside chaise, and a convertible transom bench provide multiple gathering spots, while premium upholstery and thoughtful detailing reinforce the upscale atmosphere.

Below deck, the 310SC continues to surprise. Rather than squeezing in a minimalist cuddy, EdgeWater has created a genuine retreat complete with a double berth, warm wood-look cabinetry, dedicated storage, and enough room to escape the midday sun or spend a comfortable night aboard. It’s a layout designed for couples looking to extend a day on the water into a weekend getaway.

True to Form

Despite its emphasis on comfort, this remains unmistakably an EdgeWater. The builder’s Single Piece Infusion construction and deep-V hull promise the confident ride that has made the brand a favorite among coastal boaters. Twin outboards delivering up to 800 horsepower should provide spirited performance for island hopping, watersports, and long coastal runs, while a 215-gallon fuel capacity extends cruising range.

Practical touches abound, including an integrated prep station, generous storage throughout, an in-floor fishbox, dive-door access, and seating arrangements that easily transition from entertaining to cruising. The result is a boat equally comfortable hosting friends at the sandbar, exploring the Intracoastal, or making a crossing to the Bahamas.

With the 310SC, EdgeWater isn’t abandoning its offshore heritage—it’s broadening it. By blending Scandinavian-inspired luxury with American-built performance and versatility, the company has introduced one of the most intriguing crossover boats of the year, one that could appeal to longtime EdgeWater owners while attracting an entirely new generation of cruising families.
