Avalon always dresses to impress. The Excalibur LTD Flex Lounge Windshield showed up for testing with a single Yamaha 300 outboard and romped to 30 mph in 6 seconds flat and hit a 49.5 mph top speed at 6,000 rpm. It’s thrifty, too. Best cruising speed was at just under 21 mph, burning 6.1 gph which calculates to 3.4 mpg. With the proven 27-inch-diameter tubes and Waveglider performance package, the LTD provided stable handling in lake chop and turns.
An extended foredeck grants easy docking and boarding. The curved, molded fiberglass gelcoated perimeter is accented by the standard electric folding white powder-coated EXP tower.
Avalon builds and stitches all upholstery in-house. The bow seating showcases long, dual-facing lounges with two-tone diamond-pleated vinyl soft-touch upholstery. Avalon uniquely employs aluminum seat-base frames for increased storage capacity, with vents for better breathing, trapping less moisture so mold issues are minimized. Seat bases are contoured to provide more legroom while still maintaining a large comfortable base for relaxing. Amidships, dual consoles are protected by the full windshield. Optional RGB lighting controlled at the helm illuminates both interior and exterior with ever-changing hues, augmented by a rockin’ Fusion sound system. The helm station is reminiscent of a high-performance aircraft in its style and layout. An optional 12-inch Simrad touchscreen with custom Avalon interface displays engine data and C-Zone boat control switching and status.
Aft of the helm station on the port side, a long lounge leads back to the new “bed” area arrangement where twin reversible backrests can be positioned facing fore or aft, in any combination, creating many seating and lounging options. It’s easy and quick to change. To starboard, there’s a walkway to the aft deck, with a storage compartment and concealed trash receptacle.
An extended aft deck features plenty of room for watersports prep or relaxing. A watersports tow point and folding boarding ladder are both standard.
