The G5 CLZ goes head to head with other pontoon boats at the top of the market. It’s a head-turner, loaded with advanced styling and digital features. Powered by a Yamaha 300, it posted a top speed of 41.7 mph, jumped on plane, and hit 30 mph in 6.5 seconds. Turning was sharp, with defined banking. It cruises at 19.4 mph getting 3.2 mpg. Its SPX PR25 Performance Package features triple 25-inch-diameter logs with lifting strakes.
Topside, the new exterior perimeter surround is molded-in fiberglass panels and painted Matte White, and features custom lighting pods that hold the navigation and docking lights. The panels are easily removed for service access to what’s behind (wiring, etc.) and are replaceable if damaged.
The electric-powered arch with a Bimini top is optional. (A carbon-fiber arch is also optional.) The Malibu Blue and grey pillow-topped cool-touch seating surface has a very plush look and comfortable feel. The bow seating on the G5 features facing lounges with Rotocast bases, with storage underneath and contoured bottom cushions for improved legroom. Inset pockets along each seatback feature charging ports and drink holders. The Platinum Package includes a see-through front gate, in-floor storage, a raised helm with Sea Dek mat, and a Lillipad stern boarding ladder. In addition, the pontoon tubes are painted to match the topside surround.
The captain’s console features a framed windshield. A digital dash with digital C-Zone switching integrated into the Simrad screen helps the captain monitor the engine and boat’s systems. There’s also an Ultra-Premium JL Audio sound package with subwoofer and six speakers.
The aft portside lounge is U-shaped with a reversible seatback to allow for forward- or aft-facing lounging in a myriad of positions. To starboard, there’s a walkway for aft deck access, and a complete galley with a countertop, a sink with a 5-gallon water supply, and storage behind stainless-steel access doors. A standard black powder-coated safety railing keeps riders aboard while under way, even when seated facing aft. An extended aft deck is complete with a watersports tow bar.
