SunChaser’s Eclipse 25 SB DH is a versatile, family-friendly pontoon that mixes a variety of premium features with impressive performance and customizable design. For 2026 a few new factors come into play, including a new mixed floorplan to further personalize the boat to buyer.
Forward, twin couches create both a social or leisure-friendly seating area. Pack in a group or stretch out solo. Cup holders and USB charging ports await. Roto-molded seat bases enhance the design, being color-matched to the vinyl above. Amidships find twin high-back captain’s chairs with fold-down armrests. They’re the best in the house when things get speedy, yet pivot for easy socializing. A versatile Quad lounge with pivoting backrest rounds out the accommodations, with five positions, among them couch/aft sun pad, back-to-back couches and full-on sun pad. A perimeter rail allows use of the aft seats when under way.
Extra thought was obviously put into most all of the above. Designers remembered to protect the vulnerable side of built-in speakers with full covers in their storage-based mounting locations. A slim stern cabinet is the perfect spot to stow the pedestal table but also keeps fenders handy close to the starboard walk-through. Consider upgrading to the available Lillipad ladder on the extended aft deck. It’s a better choice for getting older guests or pets aboard thanks to its gentle incline and wider steps.
The Eclipse’s fiberglass helm is substantial. An optional 3-inch elevation increases the captain’s visibility. The sizable dash paired an upgraded Simrad display with four additional zones dedicated to the stereo head unit, gauges, a rocker switch array and necessities such as the key, lanyard and power outlet.
As to the ride, we experienced tight banked turns with no power loss from the combination of SunChaser’s triple-toon X-treme PR 25 performance package and Yamaha’s F300. The former pairs three 25-inch pontoons with performance lifting strakes, the latter pushed the boat to 30 mph in just over 5 seconds and topped it out at 45 mph.
